Dear Colleague

Leicestershire County Council Telephone Number Changes

On 4th February, 2008, many County Council telephone and fax. numbers will be changing.
All of our Leicester (0116) numbers which currently start with '265', including all of those at County Hall, are being replaced by numbers starting with a '305' prefix.

For example: the current number 0116 265 7004 will change to 0116 305 7004.
Please note that although this is a Leicester number, there is no '2' after the 0116 code.

Until 4th February you will be able to contact us by using either our current or new numbers.
After then, however, the current numbers will be terminated and you will only be able to contact us on our new numbers. Therefore, I encourage you to start using the new numbers as soon as possible in order to get used to them.

The number changes are being made as the County Council's '265' number range has
reached full capacity. The changes will also enable us to reduce the cost of telephone calls,
streamline our telephone system, make call transfers easier, and allow staff to keep their
number if they move office.

I should be very grateful, therefore, if you would notify all of your colleagues about the
number changes and amend your records/contact lists as soon as possible (especially if
they include any emergency contact numbers).

If you require any further information, please contact Peter Bradshaw on 0116 305 7047 or
pbradshaw@leics.gov. uk.
Yours sincerely,
