East Norton is a small parish with no parish council, according to the 2001 Census, it has a population of 94 in 37 households.
East Norton is situated in the Tilton Ward in the Rural East area of the Harborough District Council, and the Launde Electoral Division of the Leicestershire County Council. Nationally it is in the Rutland and Melton Parliamentary Constituency and the Three Cities Sub-Area of the East Midlands Region.

The Parish Meeting consists of all the electors of the parish and meets at least twice a year to discuss local issues. The current chairman is John Dyson.

The Annual Parish Meeting to elect a chairman for the year 2009-10, to receive reports and accounts, and discuss other local government matters relating to the parish was held in the church at 7-30 pm on Wednesday 13th May 2009. John Dyson was re-elected unopposed
